President Has Said He Has Handled The Last Two Weeks Of War Against LTTE As Other Leaders Left The Country -Field Marshal Has Denied Presidents Statement

President Maithripala Sirisena has said during a meeting held with Sri Lankan community  lives in New York,USA Yesterday 27) that during the last two weeks of war against LTTE in North Former President ,Former Prime Minister, Former Defense Secretary and Army Commander all were out of the country and it was he who has handled the situation as the acting Defence Minister. 

All the top ranked Higher Officials had  left the country during the last stage of the war due to a plot planned by LTTE to destroy Colombo operating from ChennaI, India  he has stressed .

However denying the statement made by  President Sirisena Regarding the final stage of the war ,Wild Life Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has said today (28)that no one including himself fled away from the country during that period .

Addressing the media after a meeting held at Kelaniya ,Field Marshal Fonseka has said that  all the higher officials mentioned by president Sirisena  in his statement were on assignments in foreign Countries at that time and he too left for  China on an official visit .

Former Director Of Terrorism Investigations Division DIG Nalaka De Silva Has Given His Voice Sample To The Government Analyst 's Department

Investigations Division Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) Nalaka De Silva has given his voice sample today (28) to the Government Analyst 's Department as an evidence for the ongoing investigations underway  to ascertain whether the voice in a  CD handed over to the Department  by operations Manager of Anti Corruption Force Namal Kumara saying DIG Nalaka De Silva has  planned a plot to assasinate President  and Former Defense Secretary ,is his voice  .

45 minutes after   providing the Voice sample  DIG Silva has left the premises it has been reported.

He had given his voice sample as per the orders of Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne .

Prime Minister Has Instructed Finance Minister To Restrict Some Imports

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe
has instructed the Finance Minister Mangala Samaraweera to restrict some imported items to the country due to the present economic situation .

Addressing a function held  regarding the   inauguration of a new building belongs to the Katapatha Police in Kurunagala today (28) Prime Minister Wikramasinghe has said that the imports to the Country  will be restricted to save Dollar reserves .

Sri Lankan Rupee is continuously depreciating against the US Dollar at present.

A 72 Year Old Person Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 72 year old person was killed after
cording with a Private Bus travelling from KOttawa to Homagama in wee hours of this morning  (28)while attempting to cross the road at Galewilawatte area in Homagama .

The critically injured person had succumbed to his injuries after admission to Homagama Base Hospital for treatment.

Police have arrested the Bus driver regsrding the incident .

Sri Lankan Airlines To Purchase Cashewnuts From Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation

Sri Lanka's  National Carrier Sri Lankan Airlines Has Decided to purchase Cashewnuts from Sri Lanka Cashew Corporation again after suspending it' s Cashew Supplier in Dubai .

Accordingly soon after the Sri Lankan Airlines Has approved the Cashew prices submitted by the Cashew Corporation the supply will begin according to the Corporation.

Cashew Corporation had supplied Cashew to the Sri Lankan Airlines up to 2016 and afterwards the Airlines has turned towards  a Dubai Cashew Supplier a due to the higher prices of Cashew supplied by the Corporation it has been reported.

However as Sri Lankan president Maithripala Sirisena has recently criticised the taste of Cashew supplied to him in Business Class of a Sri Lankan Airlines on the way to Sri Lanka from Nepal the Airlines has suspended the supplier .

SrI Lankan Cashew is famous for its rich natural taste which lead to supply them to many star hotels in the country and export to other countries .
