President Sirisena Left For New York To Attend 73 Rd UN General Assembly

• President Maithripala Sirisena had left for New york few hours ago  to attend the  73 Rd General Assembly of the United Nations Organization scheduled to be inaugurated on next Tuesday (25) at New york ,USA.

President Sirisena had accompanied by a 15 member delegation including Ministers Patali Champika Ranawaka and John Amaratanga.

President is due to be addressed the UN General Assembly on Tuesday it has been reported .

Bodies Of A Father And Daughter Drowned In Girithale Tank Had Been Recovered

The bodies of 45 year old father and his

14 year old daughter who had been drowned whilst bathing in Girithale Tank at Polonnaruwa last noon (21)had been recovered this morning (22) by a group of Navy divers.

The deceased father and daugher who were residents of Minuwangoda had faced this  incident whilst on a picnic with their relatives at Polonnaruwa .

The deceased father was a technical Officer attached to Presidents security Division.

Meanwhile villagers around Girithale Tank have today protested in front of the Tank against not showing warning boards to the public near the Tank .

Imported Vehicle Prices To Be Incrrased Due To The Depreciation Of Sri Lankan Rupee Against The US Dollar

Due to the depreciation of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar ,The prices of Imported vehicles will be increased by Rs.300,000 according to Vehicle Importers Union.

At present the selling rate of Sri Lankan Rupee against US Dollar  has exceeded Rs.170 .

A 24 Year Old Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 24 year old Motorcyclist was killed

and 42 year old Pillion rider had been critically injured and hospitalized due  to  a Wild Elephant attack at Mada wachchiya, on Jaffna  -Kandy main  Road last night  (21).

The critically injured Pillion rider had been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment.

The deceased who was a resident of Kidawarankulam ,Punawa,Madawachchiya  had faced this incident whilst travelling from Punawa to Madawachchiya by the Motorcycle.Body of the deceased had been sent to Madawachchiya Hospital.

Madawachchiya Police are conducting an investigations on the incident .

A Sudden Fire Had Erupted In Three Train Compartments At Dematagoda

A Sudden fire erupted in three

dilapidated Train Compartments at the Dematagoda Train Yard this morning (22)had been doused by the fire fighters attached to Colombo Fire Services Department .

The fire had been erupted whilst the renovation work of the Train compartments was underway it has been revealed.The workers of a private company  involved in the renovation work had gone for lunch when the  fire has erupted .

The cause of the fire and damage done due to it have not yet been revealed.
