Imported Vehicle Prices To Be Incrrased Due To The Depreciation Of Sri Lankan Rupee Against The US Dollar

Due to the depreciation of Sri Lankan Rupee against the US Dollar ,The prices of Imported vehicles will be increased by Rs.300,000 according to Vehicle Importers Union.

At present the selling rate of Sri Lankan Rupee against US Dollar  has exceeded Rs.170 .

A 24 Year Old Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 24 year old Motorcyclist was killed
and 42 year old Pillion rider had been critically injured and hospitalized due  to  a Wild Elephant attack at Mada wachchiya, on Jaffna  -Kandy main  Road last night  (21).

The critically injured Pillion rider had been admitted to Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment.

The deceased who was a resident of Kidawarankulam ,Punawa,Madawachchiya  had faced this incident whilst travelling from Punawa to Madawachchiya by the Motorcycle.Body of the deceased had been sent to Madawachchiya Hospital.

Madawachchiya Police are conducting an investigations on the incident .




A Sudden Fire Had Erupted In Three Train Compartments At Dematagoda

A Sudden fire erupted in three
dilapidated Train Compartments at the Dematagoda Train Yard this morning (22)had been doused by the fire fighters attached to Colombo Fire Services Department .

The fire had been erupted whilst the renovation work of the Train compartments was underway it has been revealed.The workers of a private company  involved in the renovation work had gone for lunch when the  fire has erupted .

The cause of the fire and damage done due to it have not yet been revealed.

Colombo National Eye Hospital To Perform Eye Tests Of Diabetic Patients With High Tech Retinal Camera

Testing Eyes of Diabetic patients by using high tech modern Retinal Camera will be performed for the first time in Sri Lanka from 21st of September  (Yesterday ) up to 21 st of October at the National Eye Hospital in Colombo according to Ophthal mologists .

Now a high tech Modern Retinal Camera has been  fixed at National Eye Hospital to perform eye tests of Diabetic patients accurately within short period of time they have said.

Anyone in Colombo and outststations with Diabetes who wants to test their eyes can doing so from 8 a.m  to 4 p.m during weekdays at Room number 30 of the Eye Hospital up to 21st of October .
