Animal Cruelty-Agriculture Minister To Submit A Cabinet Paper To Remove Ban On Killing Wild Boars

Amaraweera has decided to submit a Cabinet Paper to the Cabinet on removing the Ban imposed on killing ,Transporting and Selling Wild Boars it has been reported.

Minister has decided to submit the Cabinet in view of minimising the damage done to the Agricultural crops by Wild Boars it has been revealed.


A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To Motorcycle -Tipper Collision

A 23 year old Motorcyclist was killed
after the Motorcycle he was riding in colliding with a Tipper Truck at Maththadiya area ,Chavakachcheri -Jaffna last night (19).

The Motorcycle the deceased was riding  in had been broken in to several pieces due to the incident according to Police.

The body of the deceased who was a resident of mislaI area ,Jaffna had been sent to Jaffna Teaching Hospital.

Chavakachcheri Police are conducting an investigation over the incident .

A Section Of The Colombo -Katunayake Express Highway Had Been Temporarily Closed

A section of the Colombo -Katunayake Express High way had been temporarily closed from today (20) until 04 th of October due to the construction work of New Kelani Bridge according to Police.

Accordingly a section 2 meters wide and 200 meters long at a lane towards Katunayake had been temporarily closed.

Public using the Express Highway will be inconvenienced due to the closure Police have said.

Minister Of Law And Order Had Instructed His Ministry Secretary To Inquire On IGP Pujith Jayasundara

Madduma Bandara has today  (20)instructed his Ministry Secretary to conduct an inquiry on the allegations levelled against Inspector General Of Police (IGP) Pujith Jayasundara.

The Deputy Minister of Law and Order Nalin Bandara had informed on this to Parliament today as a response to a question raised by leader of Leftist Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna  (JVP) Anura Kumara Dassanayake.

Allegations levelled against IGP over not taking a proper action against director of Terrorism Investigations Division Deputy Inspector General Of Police (DIG) Nalaka De Silva who was charged on  conspiring to assassinate President Maithripala Sirisena and Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe .

The Deputy Minister however denied the reports appeared in media that the President Maithripala Sirisena and Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe had requested the IGP Jayasundara to resign from his post within next two weeks.

Prime Minister's Office too denied the reports on  Prime Minister requested IGP to resign from his post within two weeks.
