Around 35 Well Trained Elephants And Tuskers Kept Under Illegal Means By Various Persons Are Now Under Custody Of Wild Life Department -Health Minister

Around 35  Elephants and Tuskers kept
by the Religious places ,Businessmen and Politicians by illegal means  during the previous regime are now under custody of Wild Life Department according to Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Those who had kept these trained Elephants and Tuskers in their possession had obtained licenses in proper way by providing various perks and  privileges  to officers he has stressed.Some Elephants  had been  stolen from Forests, the Minister has stated.

Due to this situation now there's a shortage of Elephants and Tuskers at Processions and President Maithripala Sirisena will solve this problem soon ,Health Minister has stated during the  depositing of the casket containing   Relics at 02 nd Binara Procession held at Sri Munasinghe Bodi Rajamaha Temple in Kalutara recently.

Prices Of All Bakery Products Including Bread Goes Up By Rs.5

Bakery owners again increased the
prices of Almost all the Bakery products including Bread,Buns and shortEats by Rs.5 due to the price increase of Palm Oil use to make Bakery products it has been  revealed .

Government has imposed  new taxes on Palm Oil and as a result the prices of All Bakery products had been increased according to All Ceylon Canteen owners Association.

Earlier this month prices of Bread and Kottu RotI had been increased by Rs
5 by the Bakery and Canteen owners as the  Prima Flour Company has increased   the price of 1 Kilo Gramme of Flour by Rs.5.

A Person Was Arrested With 105 Grammes Of Heroin

A person was arrested by the

Kankasanthurai Police yesterday (16)with around 105 Grammes of Heroin in his possession at Thelippalai ,Jaffna.

The suspect had been remanded until 27 th of September by the Mallakam Magistrate Court after being produced before the court over the charges related to narcotics .

The suspect is a resident of Thelippalai -Jaffna .

A Stock Of Explosives Had Been Recovered From A Well At Mannar

Officers attached to Special Police Task
Force Bomb defused Squad in Murunkan had been recovered a stock of Explosives left by LTTE Rebels during the last phase of war in North and East from an abandoned well at Murunkan ,Mannar yesterday  (15).

Around 19 hand Grenades, 07 Bombs and varieties of Ammunitions are among the Explosives that were recovered from the well it has been revealed.

These Explosives are due to be defused as per the court order issued by Mannar Magistrate Court.

Police believes the LTTE Rebels fled away from the area might have dropped these Explosives in to the well during the last phase of war .

Murunkan Police are conducting an investigations over the incident .
