Nearly 500 Coconut Plants Had Been Destroyed Due To A Fire At A Coconut Land

Nearly 500 Coconut plants Had been
destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted at a Coconut land at Alabadagama ,Pannala  today (14).

As the fire spreads throughout the land the coconut plants had destroyed severely it has been reported.

Officials of Pannala Pradishiya Sabah and Pannala Provincial Secretariet had doused the fire with assistance of residents of the area by using water Bausers.

The cause of the fire has  not yet been revealed.

Five Persons Have Been Admitted To Horana Hospital With Breathing Difficulties Due To A Gas Leak

Factory at Wagawatte,Horana had been admitted to the Horana Base Hospital with breathing difficulties due to a Gas Leak occurred at a Lorry transported  Ammonia Gas Cylinders to the factory  today (14).

The condition of two Persons who were hospitalized  is serious it has been revealed.

The Gas Leak occurred when attempting to remove seventeen Ammonia Gas Cylinders out of the Lorry it has been revealed .





Minister Mahinda Samarasinghe Has Been Appointed As Presidents Representative To The Constitutional Council

President Maithripala Sirisena has appointed Minister of Ports Mahinda Samarasinghe as his representative to the Constitutional Council .President has informed on this appointment to the Speaker Karu Jayasuriya through a letter according to Presidents Office .

Up to now Minister Patali Champika Ranawaka  represented the Constitutional Council behalf of President and his official term has ended on 05 th of September .As a result president has made this new appointment.

The Constitutional Council  is comprised of ten members.
