Nursing Staff Of Colombo National And Kandy Teaching Hospitals To Protest Infront Of Those Hospitals Tomorrow (14)

Nursing Staff attached to Colombo
National and Kandy Teaching Hospitals is due to conduct a protest campaign in front of those hospitals at 11.30 a.m tomorrow morning (14) by demanding solutions for several demands of Nurses including paying of 2016/2017 arrears of overtime paymemts according to All Ceylon Nurses Union .

Authorities have failed to.provide solutions for these demands for a  long time the Union has stressed.

Cabinet Approved A Proposal On Upgrading Ratnapura Hospital To A Teaching Hospital

Cabinet has approved a proposal on upgrading Ratnapura General Hospital to a Teaching Hospital to facilitate clinical training of Medical students scheduled to be recruited to the newly built Medical Faculty of Sabaragamuwa University.

Seventy five Medical Undergraduates are due to be recruited as the first batch of Sabaragamuwa Medical Faculty by this December according to the Ministry of Health.

As Ratnapura Hospital is upgrading as a Teaching Hospital facilities will be developed to open a Professors Unit at the Hospital  to facilitate clinical training of Sabaragamuwa Medical Students Health Minister Dr.Rajitha. Rajitha Senaratne has stated.

Four Sri Lankan Fishermen Were Killed After Their Boat Colliding With A Ship

Four Sri Lankan fishermen were killed
,Two went missing and one was escaped after the trawler Boat"Malindu Putha" they were travelling in colliding with a Ship at Sri Lankan sea area today (12)the Police Media Spokesman'S office has announced.

A search operation is being launched to find the two missing fishermen.

The Trawler Boat with seven fishermen had  left to sea from Beruwala last evening (11).

Sri Lanka Navy is currently attempting to bring the escaped Fisherman and four dead bodies of Fishermen to Galle Harbor Police .

President To Convene An Urgent Cabinet Meeting Tomorrow (13)

President Maithripala Sirisena has
decided to convene an Urgent Cabinet meeting tomorrow (13)at 12 noon in President's office at  Colombo  .

All the Cabinet Ministers are being  informed this afternoon  (12)via telephone calls to attend this Urgent Cabinet Meeting.However the reason behind the convening of the Cabinet meeting has not yet been revealed.

The weekly Cabinet Meeting was held yesterday (11)under the patronage of President Maithripala SiriSena.
