Police Department To Investigate On Distributing Contaminated Milk Packettes At Joint Opposotion Rally

Police Department will investigate on
Distributing contaminated Milk Packettes among protesters who had participated the "Jana Balaya Kolombata" Rally organized by the Joint Oposition which  held in Colombo last Wednesday (05) according to Inspector General Of Police (IGP)Pujitha Jayasundara.

The investigation will be conducted as per a complaint received from a resident of Matara District to IGP 's office he has stated.

If it proves that someone purposely distributed Milk Packettes contained poison among protesters a stern action will be taken against a person or persons who were found responsible for it IGP has stressed.

Around 30 persons were admitted to Colombo National Hospital on last Wednesday during the protest march due to falling sick after consuming Milk Packettes distributed at Union Place in Colombo.

Joint Opposotion had charged a MP attached to the Government was responsible over the incident.

Three Persons Including A Heroin Smuggler Were Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin In Their Possession

Three Persons including a Heroin
smuggler had been arrested by the Police Officers attached to Organized Crimes Prevention Division with 87.450  Grammes of Heroin in their possession at Jayanthipura Junction,Thalangama yesterday (08).

The three suspects were arrested inside a Motor Car belonging to the Heroin smuggler it has been revealed.Police officers have also taken in to custody more than Rs.178,000 worth cash and five Mobile Phones in their possession.

They are due to be produced before Kaduwela Magistrate Court. 

A Female Was Killed And Another person Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident

A 43 year old female was killed and her
Three Wheeler Driver husband Had critically injured and hospitalized after the Three Wheeler they were travelling in crashed in to a wall at Rajagiriya this morning  (09).

The two critically injured were admitted to the Colombo National Hospital where the female had succumbed to her injuries after admission.

The deceased was a resident of Rajagiriya area according to Welikada Police.

The incident occurred due to  the Three Wheeler drivers inability to control the speed of the vehicle it has been revealed. 

Thousands Of Protesters Had Protested Against Disposing Colombo Garbage At Aruwakkalu

Thousands of Villagers arrived at  Sanitary Garbage Dump and Garbage Recycling Plant land at Aruwakkalu ,Puttalam this morning (09)have protested against disposing Colombo Garbage there for hours .

The protesters who are residents of nearby villages like Serukkuliya and Wanathawilluwa had marched towards the project land from Serukkuliya bay and attacked the project head office as a protest it has been reported.

Due to the opposition of the protesters the workers at the land had temporarily departed from there with equipment they have used for work it has been revealed.

Later Police have intervened and dispersed the protesters .

Ten Persons Were Injured After The Tusker Carried Relics Of A Procession Run A Mock At Galewela

Ten Persons including a Buddhist Monk had been injured and hospitalized due to a tense situation occurred as a result of run a mock by  Dalada Maligawa Tusker"  IndiRaja "after trampling a fire charcoal during the Annual Procession of Historical Bambawa Temple at Galewela held last night (08).


The incident occurred as the IndiRaja who carried the relics of the Procession had trampled a fire charcoal after attempting to attack mahaut it has been revealed .

The injured three of them Critically had been admitted to the Galewela Base Hospital and the three critically injured were transferred to the Dambulle District Hospital for further treatment .

People got injured as they ran away  as a  result of the tense situation occurred and colliding with each other according to reports.As the Tusker run a mock on the road several vehicles had severely damaged and the Procession was stopped due to the situation.
