Joint Opposition's Protest- Police Department To Use Police Powers To Prevent Any Incident Affect To Public And State Properties

Police Department has stated today (04)

that it will use Police power to combat any incident that will affect public ,State properties,Courts and
Legal Items during the protest Campaign organized by Joint Opposition in Colombo tomorrow (05).

Even the Court has ordered Police to use Police powers if something happens against the State the Department has stated.

More Police Officers are being deployed in major areas in Colombo already to strengthen the security during the protest campaign .

Fire Erupted In Bloemendhal Garbage Dump Had Been Controlled

The fire erupted in the Bloemendhal

Garbage Dump at Kotahana this evening (04) had been controlled to  prevent  spreading further the Colombo Fire Services Department has stated.

Along with the Fire Brigade attached to Fire Services Department ,Sri Lanka Army, Airforce personal and fire Brigade of Sri Lanka Ports Authority are being engaged in dousing the fire it has been revealed. 

Body Of Another Elephant Died After Being Stucked In The Mud Of Marshy Land Recovered

Body of another Wild Elephant had
been recovered from a marshy land belongs to the Periyanaru Canal in Thummodara National Wild Life Park at Polonnaruwa today (04).

A body of a one and half year old Baby Elephant had been recovered and taken out from the mud today it has been reported.

Accordingly Bodies of  Eight Elephants who got stucked in the mud of the Canal had been recovered upto now the Wild Life Officers had revealed. 

Bodies of seven Elephants died after being stucked in the mud of the canal had been taken out from the canal yesterday (03).

The deceased Elephants may have faced this incident whilst arrived in search of water according to Wild Life officers.

Wild Life Minister Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka and Deputy Minister Palitha Thewarapperuma were also present at the occasion. 

Wild Life officers along with Army offices have expanded their search in the Marshy land by using Backo Machines  to search whether there are any other Elephant stucked in the mud.
