Attorney General Had Filed A Case Against Seven Persons Including Former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe At Special High Court
Attorney General had today (24)filed a
case against seven persons including former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe at the Special Tribunal High Court set up to speed up the large scale financial fraud cases ,over Misuse of more than Rs.30 million worth state funds to build a monument of Late D.A Rajapakshe at Weeraketiya ,Madamulana during last regime.
The court case was filed as the second case of the Special Tribunal High Court under the Common Property act and penal code.

Two Persons Were Arrested With 110.5 Kilo Grammes Of Cannabis In Possession
Two persons had been arrested with
110.5 Kilo Grammes of Cannabis and a Electric Cannabis Crushing Machine in their possession by the Special Police Task Force Personal of Hambanthota at Suriyara in Thanamalwila area today (24).
The two suspects of the ages 24 and 40 years old had been arrested with 57 Kilo Grammes and 53.5 Kilo Grammes of Cannabis in their possession respectively. The estimated value of the stock of Cannabis taken in to custody in possession of the suspects is more than Rs.3 million it has been revealed.
The suspects who are residents of Suriyara area had been handed over to Thanamalwila Police for further investigations and they are due to be produced before the Wellawaya Magistrate Court tomorrow (25).

Five Members Of A Same Family Were Injured After COlliding With A Car
Five members of a same fam
ily had been injured one of them seriously after colliding with a high speed car while crossing the road at a pedestal crossing near the karandugaha Junction at Kegalle on Colombo -Kandy main road this morning (24).
The injured were admitted to the Kegalle Teaching Hospital for treatment.
The incident occurred due to the inability of the Car driver to control the speed of the vehicle according to Kegalle Teaching Hospital.
The car had collided with a nearby Three Wheeler after colliding with five persons.
Police have arrested the Car driver over the incident.

A 11 Year Old Boy Was Arrested Over Pelting A Stone At His Mother
Bagawanthalawa Police have arrested a
11 year over boy over pelting a stone at his mother this morning (24) due to his inability to bear his hunger .
The injured Mother had been admitted to the Bagawanthalawa Hospital for treatment following the incident.
The suspected boy had pelted the stone at his mother after mother informed that food was not available when he told he was hungry.
The suspect is due to produce before the Hatton Magistrate Court tomorrow (24).

Government And Opposition MP's Together Defeated Delimitation Report On Provincial Councils
Delimitation Report on Provincial
Councils which was submitted to the Parliament today (24) had been defeated with two third majority while all the Government and opposition MP's present in the house voted against the report.
Accordingly the Report had been defeated with a majority of 139 votes as MP's of Governing United National Front ,Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) ,Tamil National Alliance and Joint Opposition Group voted against the report and MP's of Janatha Wimukthi Peramuna (JVP) were absent during the voting.
Even the Minister Of Sports And Provincial Councils Faizar Musthapha who had submitted the report to Parliament voted against it.
