A Motorcyclist Had Been Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 25 year old Motorcyclist had been
killed and a Pillion Rider was critically injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were riding in veering off the road and colliding with a Lamp post at Kiralpatiyawa area in Mahavilachchiya this morning (03).

The critically injured Motor cyclist and the Pillion Rider had been admitted to Mahavilachchiya Hospital for treatment where the Motorcyclist had succumbed to his injuries .

The Pillion Rider had been transferred to the Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment.

The incident occurred as the Motorcyclist was unabled to control the speed of the vehicle according to Police.

A Person Was Arrested With 130 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

Special Police Task Force Personal have
 arrested a person while attempted to transport 130 Kilo Grammes of Kerala Cannabis at Ippathuduwai area in Mannar today (02).

The suspect along with the haul of Kerala Cannabis taken in to custody in possession of the suspect had been handed over to the Mannar Police for further action.

The Suspect was arrested as per an information received from Naval Intelligence Unit it has been reported.


Another Two Officers Attached To Perpetual Tresuries Had Been Arrested Over Central Bank Bond Scam Issue

The Chief Sales Officer of the Perpetual
Tresuries Limited which related to the Central Bank Bond Scam Thilina Salgadu and Chief Technical Officer Of it Sachitra Devathanthri have been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) over deleting the reports of Telephone  Conversations and voice cuts received during the Bond Scam issue.

The two suspects had been released on two surety bails of Rs.300,000 each after being produced before the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne this evening. Fort Magistrate has ordered the suspects to hand over their passports to the court after imposing a travel ban on them.

The senior Deputy Solicitor General Haripriya Jayasundara had been informed the Court this evening that the two suspects are being expected to use as state witnesses during the Bond Scam issue case.

Meanwhile The Imprisoned  owner of the Perpetual Tresuries Arjun Aloysius and Chief Executive Officer Kasun Palisena who are the main suspects of the Bond Scam have been remanded until 09 th of August by the Colombo Fort Magistrate.
