An Iranian Youth Had Been Arrested After Arriving With A Fraudulent Passport

A 31 year old Iranian National had been arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) Officials attached to Katunayake at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport with a Fraudulent Brazilian Passport last evening (27).

The Suspect had been arrested while attempting fly to United Kingdom according to CID.

CID Officers are questioning the suspect over the incident.

The Foreign Couple Arrested Over Assaulting Customs Officers Had Been Released

A  Foreign Couple arrived in from

Kuwait and arrested over assaulting five Customs officers at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport last evening (27) had been released on bail today (28) by the Negambo Acting Magistrate

.
The Couple  had been released on two surety bails of Rs.100,000 each after being produced before the Negambo Magistrate Court .

The Couple had assaulted the Customs officers when they have delayed the releasing of the  Pet dog owned by the Couple , kept for quarantine it has been revealed.

The five injured Customs Officers had been discharged from the Negambo Base Hospital today.

The case is due to be taken up for hearing on this Tuesday (31).ok

Two Youth Motorcyclists Were Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Train Collision

Two youth Motorcyclists have been killed on the spot and one other was critically injured a
nd hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were travelling in colliding with a Colombo-Jaffna Express Train at the Nelukkulama Unprotected Railway Crossing in Ariyalai, Jaffna this afternoon (28).

The injured was admitted to the Jaffna Teaching Hospital for treatment.

The incident had occurred when the Motorcyclists had attempted to cross the Railway track without considering Traffic lights according to reports.

The Deceased were identified as 27 and 29 year old youth residents of  Jaffna.
