USA To Hand Over A Large War Ship "Sherman"To Sri Lanka

United States Of America (USA) has decided to hand over a Large Naval War Ship "Sherman" which was utilized to coastal security activities coincides with the Largest "Naval War Exercise " in the world "Rim Of The Pacific -2018" it has been announced.

The War Ship which is 115 meters long and equipped with modern Naval war armouries and high tech equipment will be the largest War Ship Sri Lanka will ever receive .

US Navy Personal Are currently involved in training Sri Lankan Navy Personal on how to operate this largest US Naval War Ship it has been revealed.

Six Hour Power Cut In Colombo To Be Implemented From Today

The six hour power cut scheduled to be implimented with effect from yesterday (27) in five areas of Colombo  will be imposed from today (28) from 9 a.m to 3 p.m daily upto the 31 st of July according to the Ministry of Power And Renewable Energy.

Accordingly the power cut will be implemented in Areas belonging to Colombo 03,04,05,07 and 08 from today due to an urgent renovation work at 132 Kilo Watt Power Grid System in Colombo.

Some of the roads affected due to  the power cut includes Lauris Road,Vajira Road,Divoce Avenue, Shrewberry Gardens ,Elvitigala Mawatha ,and Bauddhaloka Mawatha.

Yesterday the power cut was not implemented due to the ESALA FULL MOON POYA day activities.

A Six International Match Suspension Is Imposed On Sri Lankan Cricketer Danushka Gunathilake

Sri Lanka Cricket has imposed suspension of 6 International Cricket Matches on Sri Lankan Cricketer Danushka Gunathilake over  violation of Code Of Ethics.

The Sri Lankan Cricketer has faced this Disciplinary Action due to his being with  a friend who was charged on sexualy assaulting two Norwegian females at a Hotel in Colombo.

Danushka had faced a similar punishment  last year as well  over violating the Code Of Ethics.
