Eighteen Bus Passangers Have Been Injured And Hospitalized Due To A Road Accident At A-9 Road
Around 18 Bus passangers have been
injured and hospitalized after the Sri Lanka Transport Board(SLTB) Bus they were travelling in veering off the road and toppled over at Punawa area on A-9 road this morning(25).
The injured have been admitted to the Vavuniya General.Hospital for treatment and their condition is not critical according to sources.
The Bus was travelling from Colombo to Pudukudiirippu area at the time of the accident and the accident occurred due to the driver falling a sleep while driving.

Police Fired Tear Gas And Water Canons To Disperse A Protest March At Lotus Roundabout
Police have used Tear Gas and Water Canons to disperse a protest march conducted by HNDE Students over several of their demands including the increase of the "Mahapola" scholarship allowance from Rs.1500 to Rs.5000 this evening (25) at the Lotus Roundabout in Colombo Fort when they have attempted to march towards the Presidential Secretariat .
The Protest march of the HNDE Students had begun from Punchi Borella Junction and as it marches to Colombo Fort through Maradana and Colombo Fort a heavy traffic congestion had been reported from those areas.
As the students attempted to march towards the Presidential Secretariat the riot Police had fired Tear Gas and Water Cannons to disperse the protestors . A Student protestor was injured due to the Tear Gas it has been reported.

Director General Of Health Services Instructed To Conduct An Inquiry Over Abusing And Assaulting Of A Mother By A Doctor And Attendant
The Director General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe had begun an inquiry on an incident published in media recently regarding the assault and verbal abuse of a female who had come to the Galaha Rural Hospital on 16th of July to take medicine for her four year old sick child, by a female doctor and a female Attendant attached to the hospital according to the Health Ministry .
The inquiry is conducting as per the instructions of Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne who had given instructions to Dr.Jasinghe to conduct an inquiry over the incident and submit him a report within two weeks time.
Minister has also instructed the Director General Of Health Services to take a disciplinary action against the Doctor and Attendant if they have found as committed any wrong doing during the inquiry the Ministry has stated.
The Mother who was assaulted by the Attendant had been admitted to the Kandy Teaching Hospital for treatment.

A Female Was Arrested With A Stock Of Gold At Katunayake Airport
A 30 year old female arrived in from Kuwait had been arrested by the Airport Customs Officers this evening (25) at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport with a stock of Gold including Jewelry and Gold Biscuits weighing 5.5 Kilo Grammes in her possession .
The suspected female who is a resident in Colombo Suburbs has hidden the stock of Gold in her cloths it has been revealed.
The Airport Customs had confiscated the stock of Gold taken in to custody in possession of the suspected female.
The estimated value of the stock of Gold taken in to custody is around Rs.40 million according to reports.
