MP Vijayakala Maheswaran Was Questioned For Three Hours Over Her Controversial LTTE Favored Speach

Division officials have questioned former State Minister of Women and Child affairs Vijayakala Maheswaran around three hours yesterday (24)over a LTTE favoured speach she was made at a State function held in Jaffna recently.

The former State Minister was questioned at her office in Jaffna last evening under the supervision of A Police Inspector it has been revealed.

Government has also conducting an inquiry over the MP Maheswaean's controversial speach on LTTE .The Former state Minister and Jaffna MP had resigned from her Ministerial Portfolio following the incident.

Health Minister Instructed The Director General Of Health Services To Inquire In To An Incident On Refusing To Admit Three Critically Injured Persons To A Rural Hospital

Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne
has Instructed the Dirctor General Of Health Services Dr.Anil Jasinghe to inquire in to the non admission of three critically injured persons of a same family to the Thammannawa Rural Hospital in Anuradhapura  as a result of not having a Doctor in the Hospital recently.

The Minister has instructed the Director General Of  Health Services to investigate the incident and submit a report to him within two weeks.

The three criticallu injured persons of a same family ,A father,Son and Mother who had injured due to a road accident had been transported to the Mihintale Hospital after refusing to adnit to the Thammannawa Hospital and on the way the father and son had succumbed to their injuries it has been reported.

The Mother was later admitted to the Anuradhapura General Hospital for treatment.

Around 200 Million Antibiotics Sold During Last Year-Health Minister

Around 200 million Antibiotic  Drugs had sold during last year(2017) in Sri Lanka following the price reduction of 48 essential Drugs implemented by the Ministry of Health according to Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Due to the price reduction of Essential Drugs more people are now purchasing quality drugs after producing prescriptions issued by Doctors the Minister has stressed.

Addressing an event held at Bandaranaike Menorial International Conference Hall(BMICH) in Colombo on Empowerement of the Sri Lankan Primary Care Health System under the World Bank Aid,Minister has said that the annual.production of the State Pharmaceutical Manufacturing Corporation (SPMC) had been increased to 4 billion from.2 billion.
