Three Persons Have Been Arrested With 50 Barrels Of "Ethanol"

Three persons have been arrested by
the Excise Department Officials while with 50 Barrels of "Ethanol" in possession at Weligampitiya in Ja Ela and Makandura ateas last night(20).

Excise Department Officials had first arrested the suspects along with 15 Barrels of "Ethanol"  and after questioning them another 35 Barrels had been taken in to custody at Makandura area .A Container Truck used to transport these Barrels too have been taken in to custody by the officials during the raid.

The estimated value of the "Ethanol"taken in to custody is around Rs.10.3 million according to reports.

A businessman who is purchasing the Confiscated stocks of Ethanol had transported this stock of Ethanol it has been reported.The stock is not in condition for human consumption.

Two Persons Have Been Arrested With A Haul Of Narcotics

Special  Police Task Force personal had

arrested two persons with 2.69 Kilo Grammes of Narcotic believes to be Heroin at Evevalampattu area in Serunuwara this evening(21).

The two suspects of the ages 42 and 46 years old are residents of Evevalampattu and Karakamalai areas it has been revealed.

They were handed over to the Serunuwara Police station for further investigations.

A Small Lorry Driver Was Killed Due To A Lorry-Container Truck Collision

A 30 year old Small Lorry Driver was killed after his vehicle colliding with a
Container Truck at Ambagaswewa area in Mahawa today(21).
The critically injured driver had succumbed to his injuries after being admitted to the Variyapola Hospital it has been reported.

The deceased was a resident of Elamulla area and the Mahawa Police have arrested the Container Truck Driver regarding the incident.

Two School Boys Have Been Drowned While Bathing In Dee Ella Oya

Two School Boys have been drowned while bathing in Dee Ella Oya (River)
near Thalgasmote area in Veyangoda this afternoon(21).

Four School Boys in Veyangoda had webt to the Dee Ella Oya to take a bath while on the way to a tution class and as one had drowned while bathing another student who had attempted to save him had also drowned acccording to Veyangoda Police.

Residents of the area have saved the two Boys  who were of the ages 16 and 17 years old and admitted to the Wathupitiwala Hospital where they had succumbed to their injuries .
