A Security Officer Attached To A Popular School In Kuliyapitiya Was Arrested While Selling Heroin

Police officers attached to the Dangerous Drug Prevention Unit of Kuliyapitiya Police have today(18)arrested a Security Officer attached to a Popular School in Kuliyapitiya area while selling Heroin in front of the school.


Police have also taken in to custody more than 2 Grammes of Heroin in possession of the suspect it has been reported.

The arrest was made as per the complaints received by the Police from parents that the suspected Security Officer is selling Heroin among School Children.

Police is now investigating on whether the suspect had sold Heroin among School children.

Two Persons Have Been Sentenced To Death Over A Murder In 1998

Colombo High Court Judge Gihan Kulatunge has today(18)sentenced two supects to Death over a killing of a person by shooting at his head at Borella area in 1998.

The two accused had shot and killed a person due to providing information to Police on a murder occurred at Borella in 1998.Attorney General has filed a case against the two accused in Colombo High Court.

High Court Judge has also ordered the Police to arrest and produce the third suspect who is avoiding the Court regarding the murder.

Four Indian Nationals Have Been Arrested While Attempting To Smuggle 12 Gold Pieces

Four Indian Nationals who had attempted to smuggle 12 pieces of Gold illegally to Chennai,India have been arrested by the Airport Security officers attached to Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport in wee hours of

this morning(18).

The four suspects had attempted to smuggle the Gold Pieces by hiding them inside their bodies and the Gold pieces had been identified during a scan test conducted by Airport security.

The estimated value of the Gold Pieces recovered is more than Rs.1 million it has been revealed.

Airport Customs officers are questioning the suspects over the incident by keeping them under detention.
