A Police OIC Was Arrested Over Accepting A Rs.300,000 As A Bribe From A Businessman

The Officer In Charge (OIC) of Kalkuda Police Station had arrested by the Bribery  Commission officials today(10) while accepting Rs.300,000 as a bribe from a Businessman.

The suspect has demanded a bribe of Rs.500,000 from a Businessman  To issue a Police Report to him to obtain an Environmental License from  Central Environmental Authority to start a Brick cutting Business in Kalkuda area and he was arrested while accepting Rs.300,000 from the demanded money at the Koralepattu Pradeshiya Sabah in Valachechena area.

The Suspect is due to be produced before the Valachchena Magistrate Court.

Husband of the deceased Female Singer Priyani Jayasinghe who had been arrested over the killing of the his singer wife was remanded until 23rd of July by the Panadura Magistrate Court today(10).
