Many Equipment Installed In Palwatta Sugar Factory Were Destroyed Due To A Fire

Many equipment located at a section ofa Palwatta Sugar Factory have been destroyed due to a sudden fire erupted in the factory today(07) according to the reports.

The fire was erupted in a section where the processing machines which are convert the Sugar in to Treacle cubes which lead to final production ,are fixed.Around Rs.10 million worth equipment have been destroyed due to the fire.

Officials suspected that the fire was caused due to an Electrical leak.

Fire brigade arrived at the scene had doused the fire before spreading it further.

Post -Master General Has Been Transferred

Post-Master General Rohana Abeyratne has been transferred to Presidential Secretariat with immediatte effect it has been reported.

The Post-Master General who had  served in his post around ten years was criticized by many during the recent Postal strike as he had cancelled leave of all  Postal workers who struck work and decided to pay those who were on  strike  half the salary .

The Name "SAITM"To Be Removed From The Certificatte To Be Awarded To The "SAITM' Students Recruited To Kotalawala Defense University

The name "SAITM" will be removed from the Medical Degree Certificatte awarded to the SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) students recruited to the Kotalawala Sir John Kotalawala Defense University according to the President Maithripala Sirisena.

Earlier authorities have decided to use the name "SAITM"within brackets of the certificatte scheduled to be awarded by the Kotalawala Defense University to the newly recruited SAITM students.However as the Students opposed it Government has decided to remove the name "SAITM"from the certificatte.

President has revealed this during a function held at Nelum Pokuna Tbeater in Colombo -10 yesterday(06)with the participation of SAITM Students and their parents.
