Thiry Nine Army Brigadiers And Captains Have Been Promoted To The Ranks Of Major General And Major

President Maithripala Sirisena had promoted 39 Army Brigadiers and Captains to the ranks of Major General and Major with immediate effect according to the Army Secretariat.

Accordingly 05 Brigadiers of the Sri Lanka Army who had committed during the Humanatarian mission against LTTE Terrorist Organization have been promoted to the rank of Major General and 34 Army Captains have been promoted to the rank of Army Major.

Government School Teachers and Principals are due to launch Sick Note Campaign in Schools on 04 th of July against the appointments made by the Government in Education Sector which are against the Service minute according to the Teachers And Principals Trade Union Collective.

Government is making these appointments by  considering those appointeees as those  facing  political revange ,the Trade Union Collective has stated.

A Mother And Son Were Killed Due To A Motorcycle -Cab Collision

A 48 year old Mother and her 27 year

old son were killed after the Motorcycle they were riding colliding with a rear part of a Cab parked near roadside at A-9 Road near 123 rd Kilo Meter post in Galkulama Jumction last night(29).

The critically injured Mother and Son had succumbed to their injuries after admission to Mihintale Hospital.

Thirappane Police have arrested the driver of a drinking bottle transporting Cab regarding the accident.

Thirappane Police are conducting an investigatons over the incident.
