A Person Was Arrested With Three Gold Biscuits In Possession
Airport Customs officers have arrested a 37 year old Sri Lankan National last night(29) while attempting to smuggle three Gold Biscuits weighing 100 Grammes each illegally to Sri Lanka at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport .
The suspect who is a resident of Nittambuwa area had arrived in From Singapore it has been revealed.
The estimated value of the three Gold Biscuits the suspect had attempted to smuggle is more than Rs.2 million it has been revealed.The Customs are investigating over the incident.

President Has Instructed The Authorities To Build The Proposed Elephant Fence ASAP
President Maithripala Sirisena has yesterday (29) instructed the authorities to begin the work of building the proposed 2500 Kilo Meter long Elephant Fence in view of Preventing Human-Elephant conflict which currently previls in many areas.
President has urged the authorities during a meeting held at the President's Office yesterday regarding the construction work of the Elephant Fence ,to begin the construction work of the proposed Elephant fence as well as paying attention to the imporrance of maintaining the Elephant fence correctly and to operate the Electric Fence which currently not functioning.
At present Sri Lanka has around 4000 Kilo Meter long Elephant Fences and the number of Civil Defense Force Personal employed to protect the fence numbering 1860 is not sufficent enough to maintain it ,it has been revealed during the meeting.
President Sirisena has instructed the authorities to fill the shortage of Civil Defense Force Personal experienced in area covering the Elephant fence.

Price Of A Tea Cup And Lunch Pack To Be Reduced Following The Price Reduction Of A Gas Cylinder
All Ceylon Eatery Owners Association has decided to reduce the prices of Plain Tea , Milk Tea and Rice Packettes with effect from Tomorrow(01) after considering the reduced price of a Domestic Gas Cylinder.
Accordingly price of a Cup of Plain Tea and Milk Tea will be reduced by Rs.5 and the Price of a Lunch Packette to be reduced by Rs.10 according to the Association.
However prices of Bakery Products including a loaf of Bread will not be reduced due to the reduced Gas Price as prices of Bakery products not have been increased during the recent price hike of a Gas Cylinder the Bakery Owners Association has stated.
Consumer Affairs Authority has reduced the Price of a Domestic Gas Cylinder by Rs.138 with effect from midnight last night(29).
