Colombo District Court Has Issued An Interim Order Against The Subject Minister's Decision To Allow National film Corporation To Distribute Films As Sole Distributer

Ratnayake has today(28)issued an interim order to suspend the decision taken by the Minister Wijedasa Rajapakshe to allow only National Film Corporation to distribute Local films effect until 12 th of July,after considering a petition filed at the court against the decision.

 Four Private Cinema Distributing companies including EAP and MOVIE PRODUCT had filed the petition  against the decision.

Colombo District court had also issued notices to the Film Corporation officials to appear before the court on 12 th of July.

A Person Was Arrested Over Cheating Females And Collected Nearly Rs.5 Million Worth Money

Police have arrested a 31 year old Person who had cheated women by promising marrying them and cheated their money by behaving as a Doctor at a Lodge near the Pettah Bus Station yesterday (27).

The suspect who is a resident of Weliketiya in Pamunugama had cheated nearly Rs.5 million from residents of many areas including Pamunugama,Colombo,Kandana and Negambo areas according to the Police.The suspect had used the cheated money to play Casino it has been revealed.

He is due to be produced before the court.

A Van Driver Was Injured Due To A Road Accident

A Van Driver was injured and hospitalized after the VAN he was driving veering off the road at 19th Post in Siyambalanduwa road last evening (27).

The injured driver was admitted to the Siyambalanduwa Base Hospital for treatment and his condition is not critical according to the Police.

The accident occurred due to the high speed driving of the Driver the Traffic Unit of the Mahakalugolla Police have stated.

A Person Has Drowned In Ibbagamuwa Wewa

Related imageA 52 Year old person has drowned while bathing in Ibbagmauwa Wewa(River )with few others  in Gokarella area last evening (27) it has been reported.

Police along with the residents of the area are being launched a search operation 
 in search of the missing according to Gokarella Police.

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Inguruwatta in Mawathagama(North Western Province) who arrived at from Rambukkana area on a pilgrimage.
