A Person Has Drowned In Ibbagamuwa Wewa

A 52 Year old person has drowned while bathing in Ibbagmauwa Wewa(River )with few others  in Gokarella area last evening (27) it has been reported.

Police along with the residents of the area are being launched a search operation 
 in search of the missing according to Gokarella Police.

The deceased had been identified as a resident of Inguruwatta in Mawathagama(North Western Province) who arrived at from Rambukkana area on a pilgrimage.

A Person Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 42 year old person was killed due to a Wild Elephant Attack at Uttimaduwa area in Thirappne(Anuradhapura District) while traveling in a Tractor last night (27).

The deceased was identified as a resident of Pallama in Madurankuliya area.

Around 42 Sri Lankan Fake Currency Notes Have Been Recovered In A Lorry

Thambuttegama Police have recovered 42 Sri Lankan  fake currency notes of Rs.500 in a Lorry parked at a Garage at Thambuttegama area .

The fake Currancy notes had concealed in a Bag hanged in  the lower part of the lorry which parked at the Garage for tenovation work

An 18 Year Old Youth Was Killed Due To A Bus Accident

An 18 year old youth was killed after stucked between a footboard of a bus he was travelling and a tree while the bus was reveresed back by the driver last night(26) at Galkiriyagama in Dambulla-Kurunagala main road .

The critically injured youth had succumbed to his injuries on admission to the Galewela Hospital.

The incident occurred when the Bus was reversed back by the driver after stopping for tea at a Canteen in Galkiriyagama area.The deceased was a resident of Batticaloa District it has been revealed.

Police have arrested the Bus driver regarding the incident.
