Airline Passangers Are Being Requested To Be Present At The Katunayake Airport Four Hours Prior To Their Departure

Due to an essential renovation work at the Departure lounges at the Airport,The authorities of the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport have requested it's passangers to arrive in the Airport 04 hours prior to their departure from tomorrow(18) until further notice.

This request has been made to avoid unnecessary flight delays according to the Sri Lankan Airlines.More details can be obtained through the number 1979  .

A Person Was Killed Due To A Gun Shooting

A 33 year old person was killed when police officers fired a group of persons who attempted to attack Police officers with swords at Mallakam Junction in Thelippelai ,Jaffna this evening(17)it has been reported.

The incident occurred when Police officers went to disperse a group involved in a brawl at a mosque in the area.As a person attempted to attack the Police officers ,They had shot him according to reports.

Police officers have been deployed in the area after the incident to calm the situation.

Another Two Suspects Were Arrested Over The Gun Shooting Incident In Kataragama

Police have arrested another two persons regarding the gun shooting against Chief Incumbent of Kataragama Kirivehera temple ,today(17) in Kataragama according to the Police Media Spokesman's office.

The two suspects had been identified as shot and injured the Chief Incummbent thero and another monk on a Rs.3 million contract the Office had stated.

Two Were Killed Due To Motorcycle -Train Collision

A Motorcyclist and a Pillion rider were
killed on the spot after the Motorcycle they were riding in colliding with a Train travelling from Chilaw to Colombo at a Railway crossing in Peralanda ,Ragama this evening(17).

The accident occurred when the Motorcyclist attempted to cross the railway crossing while the gate was closed it has been revealed.The identity of the deceased not yet been revealed.
