Lotus Roundabout from the entry point to Galle Face road and Bank Road in front of World Trade Center in Colombo Fort have been temporarily closed since this evening (06) due to a protest campaign in front of Colombo Fort Railway Station is being conducted by the Graduate National Center.
Police have advised the Motorists to use an alternative routes to travel due to this situation.
The Protest March is being held by demanding the government to provide employment opportunities to the Graduates in Government Sector without cutting them.
Health Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne has decided to make arrangements to perform Liver Transplant Surgeries in Colombo National And Ragama Teaching Hospitals after 4 p.m in view of reducing the waiting list for the Surgeries.
Health Minister has already informed the Liver Transplant Surgeons in Colombo National And Ragama Teaching Hospitals to make a plan regarding performing surgeries after 4 .p.m in these hospitals and submit to him soon .Can grant an allowances for the staff if necessary for performing Liver Transplant Surgeries after 4 p.m he has stressed.
So far around 30 Liver Transplant Surgeries have performed in those two government hospitals and Health Minister has decided to submit a Cabinet paper to the Cabinet seeking approval for airlifting Livers for these transplant surgeries .
Minister had discussed on Airlifting the Liver organs with the Air Force Commanded also the Ministry Of Health ha stated.
A proposal submitted on creating Artificial Rain in Drought hit areas and Hydrocatchment areas of Sri Lanka was approved by the Cabinet yesterday(05) it has been announced.
Under the Proposal submitted to the Cabinet by Minister Daya Gamage it has been suggested to create Artificial Rain through spraying a chemical to the clouds (Cloud seeding)by using an Aircraft and spraying a chemical to air from.a mountanous area in Kotmale.
This programme on creating Artificial Rain will be implemented under the supetvision of Ministry of Primary Industries and a University in China it has been revealed.
A Team of Thai experts too arrived in Sri Lanka recently to study the possibility of making Artificilal Rain in relevant areas of the country.
