Ginigathhena-Nortonbridge Main Road Was Blocked Due To A Falling Of A Rock

Transport activities of the Ginigathhena
-Nortonbridge main road are being blocked at Diyagala -Mallikawa area since this morning (03)due to a falling of a huge rock in to the road  from a mountain top according to the Police.

The Rock had fallen to the road as a result of the heavy showers falling in the western slope areas of the Central hills since last night(02) and strong winds prevailing the Police have  stated.

Due to this situation only Three Wheelers and Motorcycles can travel in the road at present it has been revealed.Nortonbridge Police  currently taking  steps to remove the Rock from the road it has been announced.

Heavy mist has also seen in the area at present according to the  reports.

Motorists  are being advised to drive carefully in the main roads of  Central hills especially in Hatton-Nuwara eliya ,Hatton -Colombo and Hatton-Balangoda roads due to the Adverse Weather authorities have stated.

A Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Road Accident

A 22 year old Motorcyclist was killed
after the Motorcycle he was riding toppled over the road and run over by a Lorry when attempting to over take the Lorry at Halwala in Weliweriya area yesterday(01).

The critically injured Motorcyclist had succumbed ti his injuries after admission to Gampaha Base Hospital for treatment.

Weliweriya Police have arrested the Lorry Driver regarding the accident. 

A Female Was Arrested With 24 Foreign Liquor Bottles

Airport Police have arrested a Sri

Lankan Business woman who had attempted to smuggle around 24 foreign made Liquor bottles to Sri Lanka this morning(02) at the Katunayake International Airport.

The suspected female who is a resident of Colombo had arrived at the Airport from.India it has been revealed.She was arrrsted while attempting to take the stock of liquor out of the Airport.

The estimated value of tbese bottles is more than Rs.150,000 it has been revealed.

The Names Of 118 MP'S Who Had Taken Money From.The Bond Scam Suspects To Be Revealed To The Parliament

The names of 118 MP's who had taken
money from the Perpetual Treasuries Limited which is the  main suspect of the Central Bank Bond scam scheduled to be revealed to the Parliament early next week according to the Government sources.

Due to the requests made regarding the revelation of these names,Speeker Karu Jayasuriya had requested the permission of the Attorney General.in this regard the sources have stated .

The former Sports Minister Dayasiri Jayasekare had accepted that he had received a check worth laks of Rupees from.the owner of the Perpetual Trasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius who is now in remand over the Bond Scam issue.

Last week Minister of Wild Life Field Marshal Sarath Fonseka has stated he had received money from the perpetual treasuries limited for the election campaign  .
