Polish National Who Brought 100 Gold Biscuits Illegally To Sri Lanka Was Fined

Image result for finedAirport Customs Officers have confiscated the 10 Gold Biscuits weighing 100 Grammes each brought to Sri Lanka illegally by a 60 year Old Polish National yesterday (31) and fined the suspect Rs.5 million according to reports.

The suspect brought the stock of Gold Biscuits hidden in his waist belt last morning from Dubai and was arrested by the Airport Customs.The suspect was fined after conducting an investigation over the incident according to the Customs.

The stock of Gold Biscuits weighing 100 Kilo Grammes  worth more than Rs.67 million it has been estimated.

A 30 Year Old Motorcyclist Was Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Tipper Collsion

Image result for accidentA 30 year old youth Motorcyclist  was killed due to a Motorcycle-Tipper collision at Veediyagoda in Moragahahena this morning (01) according to the Moragahahena  Police.

The critically injured Motorcyclist was  taken to the Bandaragama District Hospital by the Tipper Truck driver ,However he had succumbed to his injuries before admission .

The deceased was a resident of Veediyagoda area it has been revealed.

New Land Area Of Colombo Has Increased By 474.5 Hectares According To A New Colombo Map

The land area of the City of Colombo has increased by 474.5 Hectares according to the new map of Colombo compiled and officially  issued by the Government Survey Department today(31) at the Department office in Narahenpita.

The new map with the details of Colombo Port City,Expressways and other Development Projects was handed over to the Minister of Land And Parliamentary Affairs Gayantha Karunathilake by the Surveyor General P.M.P Udayakantha at the Department office.

The new map of Sri Lanka is currently under preparation at the Survey Department is scheduled to be issued by end of this year.72 sections out of the 92 sections in the new map have been already completed the Department has stated.
