I’M DRAWING YOUR PICTURE WITH HEART’S BLOOD,
WITH HEART’S BLOOD,
O I’VE LOOKED AT YOU WITH A LOVING GLANCE!

WITH A LOVING GLANCE,
I’M DRAWING YOUR PICTURE WITH  HEART’S BLOOD,
WITH HEART’S BLOOD…
AS MANY COLOURS AS I FOUND, I USED ‘EM ALL FOR YOU, AH!  USED ‘EM FOR YOU…
THERE’S ANOTHER COLOUR - OF CONSTANCY,
O WHENCE SHOULD I GET THAT!
WHENCE SHOULD I GET THAT?
I’M DRAWING YOUR PICTURE WITH HEART’S BLOOD,
WITH HEART’S BLOOD….

OH! THE MONSOON’S BORROWED THE CLOUD FROM YOUR TRESSES,
HAS BORROWED…
THE LIGHTNING’S STOLEN THE QUIVER FROM YOUR GLANCE,
THE QUIVER FROM YOUR GLANCE…

AFTER INVITING YOU TO MY HEART I WON’T DISMISS YOU, OH!
I WON’T DISMISS YOU,
O ‘TIS DIFFICULT FOR YOU TO RETURN FROM MY HOME!
  TO RETURN FROM MY HOME,
I’M DRAWING YOUR PICTURE WITH HEART’S BLOOD,
WITH HEART’S BLOOD.
