Eight Districts Were Issued Landslide Warnings Due To Adverse Weather

National Building Research Organi
zation(NBRO) had issued landslide warnings to eight districts this evening(20) for a 24 hour period due to the heavy showers prevailing in these districts at present.

Accordingly landslide warnings have been issued to Kegalle,Ratnapura,
Kalutara,Kurunagala,Badulla,Nuwara Eliya,Galle and Colombo districts. People lives in slope areas of these districts should be vigilant over the landslide signs NBRO has stated.

A Female Who Had Observed Sil At A Meditation Center Has Died And Another Injured Due To Lightning

A female who had observed sil(sil
means "sheela" in Buddhism) has died and another female of same kind has been injured and hospitalized due to a lightning strucked at the meditation center they were in at hagallawatte, Horana this evening(20).

The critically injured female sil maniyo was admitted to the Horana Base Hospital for treatment.

Water Levels Of Three Rivers Are On The Rise-People In Low Land Areas Are Advised To Be Vigilant Over Floods

Due to the adverse weather condition prevailing in most parts of the country,water levels of Kalu,Gin and Millakanda rivers are on the rise according to the Disaster Management Center.

Due to this situation people lives in low land areas around these rivers are being advised to be vigilant over possible floods .

Meanwhile the Irrigation Department has stated that several low land areas in south including Poddala, bope ,baddegama,thawalama ,nagoda ,niyagama,divithura and neluwa are in risk of being submerged due to the rising water levels of Gin River .

People in  these areas are being advised to be vigilant over the situation.
