Tourists Are Being Advised To Refrain From Visiting Closer To All Water Falls In Uva Province

Police have advised the tourists to refrain from  visiting closer to all the water falls especially the famous diyaluma,dunhinda and ravana falls in Uva province these days ,due to the waves of these water falls have become stronger as a result of the heavy showers prevailing in the Province.

Earlier Police have warned the both local and foreign tourists to refrain from bathing in  water falls and rivers throughout the island where heavy showers are being  experienced..

The water level of the Kirindi Oya which is  feed from Ravana falls too is on the rise these days due to heavy showers it has been reported.

A Person Was Killed Due To A Wild Elephant Attack

A 50 year old person was killed on the

spot due to a wild elephant attack at Muththwala area in Ethimale ,Monaragala this morning(19).

The deceased who was a resident of Siyambalanduwa area was attacked by the Wild Elephant while riding a bicycle to participate an alms giving it has been revealed.

Two Females Were Arrested With A Haul Of Heroin In Marttakkuliya Area

Two females have been arrested with

122.820 grammes of Heroin in their possession at Samithpura ,Mattakkuliya area today(19) by the Anti Fraud Police Squad in Western province during a raid carriedout in the area.

The suspected females who are 42 and 25 year old residents of Colombo are due to be produced before the Maligakande Magistrate court.


Nine Persons Were Injured Due To A Road Accident In Hatton

Nine persons including five children
have been injured and hospitalized after a Private Bus they were travelling slipped over the road fallen in to a precipice this evening(19) at the Road in Legent estate in Hatton area.

The injured were admitted to the Dikoya Base Hospital for treatment.

The injured are Estate workers and their children who were travelling in a Bus which transported a group of Estate workers to the function held in a Hindu Kovil it has been reported.
