Groups Of Local And Foreign Tourists Stucked Inside Minneriya Wild Life Park Due To A Submerged Road



Around 100 Jeeps carried groups of  local and foreign tourists had stucked inside the Minneriya Wild Life Park yesterday(05) for few hours as one of the roads of the Park got submerged due to the  overflowing of Keri Oya(River) flowing across the Wild Life park.

The tourists have visited  the Wild Life Park to view Wild Elephants.

As the road is continuosly submerged due to the overflowing of Keri Oya,Authorities have closed the road temporarily it has been reported.

Three Persons Arrested Over Transporting Cattle Illegally-Three Cattle Died After The Truck Transporting Them Toppled Over

Investigations Division of Matara have arrested three persons over transporting 13 Cattle from a Truck  without a license in Weligama area this morning(06).

However three cattle including a pregnant one in the Truck have died due to the toppling over of the truck on the road as a result of the gun shots fired by the Police officers due to not stopping the vehicle despite police orders it has been revealed.

A 73 Year Old Person Has Drowned And Died ,Five Others Have Been Saved While Bathing In Ambalangoda Sea Area

A 73 year old retired administrative
officer  has drowned and died and five others including two doctors their two little daughters and a relative have been drowned and saved while bathing a sea area near the Ambalangoda Rest house this noon(06).

The deceased who was a resident of Ambalangoda area and five others bathing with him had drifted away by strong sea waves and residents of the area had managed to rescue five persons including a doctor attached to Elpitiya Hospital ,His doctor wife attached to the Karapitiya Teaching Hospital, their two daughters of the ages two and half years and three and half years and a relative it has been revealed.

The six persons went to bath in sea after Ambalangoda Police have instructed the residents of the area not to go to sea due to rough seas .
