A Fever Spreading Rapidly In Hambanthota

A fever which is similar to the seasonal Influenza is being spreading rapidly in Hambanthota District these days  according to the Regional Epidemiologists.

Fever,Cold and Throat infection are some of the symptoms of this fever it has been stated.Young children under age two ,Elderly persons  over 65 and pregnant mothers are at risk of developing complications due to the fever according to the Epidemiologists.

A Motorcyclist Was Critically Injured Due To A Road Accident

A Motorcyclist was critically injured
and another Motorcyclist had received minor injuries due to a head collision between two Motorcycles in velegoda Matara today(03).

The critically injured Motorcyclist waa admitted to the Matara General Hospital for treatment.

Police are conducting an investigation over the incident.

Police Will Conduct A Formal Inquiry Over The Stolen Medal Belonged To Late Lester James Pieris-Law And Order Minister

A formal and urgant inquiry will be
conducted by the Police over the stolen valuable medal received by the Late film maker Dr.Lester James Pieris with the Golden Peacock award which he had won at the International film festival held in 1965 at New Delhi,India according to the Minister of Law and Order Ranjith Madduma Bandara.

The medal.was stolen by someone at the house of late film maker during his funeral activities yesterday(02(.

Meanwhile Police have received another complaint on missing of a valuable modern hand phone belongs to a cousin sister of the late film maker at the funeral house the Police Media Spokesaman's Office has announced.

Chief Of Staff Of The President And Chairman Of State Timber Corporation Have Been Arrested Over Accepting Rs.Millions Worth Bribe-President Ordered To Sack Them From Their Posts

The Chief of Staff of the Presidential
Secretariat Dr.I.H.K Mahanama and the Chairman of the State Timber Corporation P.Dissanayake have been arrested by the Bribery Commission officials  while accepting an advance out of  Rs.20  million bribe demanded by them from a person at a leading hotel in Colombo today(03).

The bribe was accepted by the officials regarding exchange of shares of a Company it has been revealed.

Meanwhile President Maithripala Sirisena Has ordered the authorities to suspend the relevant officers from.their posts immediatly and  implement law against them without any influence according to the President's Media Division.
