Heavy Showers To Be Experienced With Strong Winds In The Sea Area From Galle To Pothuvil

today(02) stated that the heavy showers assisted with strong winds around 70 - 80 kilo meters per hour will be experienced in the sea area from Galle to Pothuvil via Hambanthota within next eight hours  .

However North ,North Central,Eastern ,North western ,Eastern provinces and Matale and Hambanthota districts will be experienced a hot weather conditions.

A Valuable Medal Received By The Late Dr.Lester James Pieris With The Golden Peacock Award In 1965 Had Been Stolen

The valuable Medal received by the Late legandary film maker Dr. Lester James Pieris with the Golden Peacock Award in International Film Festival held in New Delhi,India in 1965 for the "Gamperaliya" film, had been stolen by someone during his funeral activities at the home in Bambalapitiya this morning (02) it has been revealed.

The lost  medal believed to be stolen by someone among the huge crowd arrived in late filmmaker's residence to pay him the last respect according to sources.

Meanwhile the relatives of the late Dr.Lester James Pieris have made a complaint to the Police regarding the lost Medal which displayed near the late filmmaker's coffin according to the Police Media Spokesman SP Ruwan Gunasekare.

Police are now taking  evidence from the later dr.Lester's relatives over the incident.
