Four Suspects Have Been Arrested While Attempting To Smuggle A Stock Of Gold To India

Airport customs have arrested four
persons while attempting to smuggle a stock of Gold weighing around 1.5 kilo Grammes to Mumbai,India today at the Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport.

The stock of gold the suspects including three frmales attempted to smuggle to India worth around Rs.8.9 million according to Customs.

The suspects are residents of Jaffna,Galle and Colombo areas it has been revealed.Customs are incestigating over the incident.

Ten Passangers Were Injured Due To An Accident In Southern Expressway

Ten bus passangers have been injured
and hospitalized after a Bus they were travelling in with  Seventeen passangers toppled over at 91 mile post between baddegama and pinnaduwa in the Southern Expressway this morning(28).

The injured have been admitted to Karapitiya teaching and Baddegama hospitals for treatment.

The bus was on the way pilgrimage to Kataragama from Elpitiya at the time of the incident it has  been revealed.

A Person Had Robbed A Bank In Colombo

An unidentified person had robbed
Rs.750,000 from a commercial bank  branch in Wattala this noon (27).

The robber who had arrived  in from a Motorcycle had thrown chilie powder towards the security officer in front of the bank and robbed the money at the counter and fled away, it has been revealed.

Wattala Police are conducting an investigations over the incident.

Price Of Litro And Laugfs Domestic Gas Cylinders To Be increased From Midnight Today


The price of a 12.5 Kilo Gramme Litro and Laugfs Domestic Gas Cylinders will be increased from Rs.245  with effect from midnight tonight(27) according to the Litro and Laugfs Gas companies.

Accordingly the new price of the LP Domestic Gas Cylinder is Rs.1676.

The Consumer Affairs Authority had given approval for the price increase according to reports.
