A Couple Was Killed Due To Motorcycle -Van Collision

A couple was killed after the

Motorcycle they were travelling colliding with a Van at Karambankulama area in Madawachchiya area last morning(20).

The deceased were identified as a 21 year old female and 25 year old male from galkandegama in Madawachchiya area.

The driver of the Van too got injured and admitted to the Madawachchiya Hospital for treatment.

A Body Of An Elephant Calf Has Been Recovered

A body of a three year old Elephant Calf

Who had died due to the firing of a device "Hakkapatas" ,recovered in a forest area at Puvarasakulam in Vavuniya yesterday(19).

Only the bones and skin of the Elephant Calf remained at present it has been revealed.

Officials are due to launch an investigation over the death of elephant calf.

A Female Accountant Was Arrested Over Cheating Rs.22.4 Million

A 36 year old female Accountant

attached to a Gampaha Bank who had cheated More than Rs.20 million (22,41,349)while at work was arrested by the Criminal Investigations Department (CID) officials yeaterday(19)at Kegalle.

The suspected Accountant who went abroad after the financial fraud she had committed was arrived in Katunayake,Bandaranaike International Airport on Wednesday(18)and artested at the Airport by the Immigration and Emigration Department officials .

However she had escaped from the custody of Immigration officials .

After detecting her location CID officers had arrested in Kegalle.She is due to be produced before the Gampaha Magistrate Court .
