Five Workers Have Died And Fifteen Hospitalized Due To Ammonia Inhalation In A Rubber Factory

Five workers  attached to a Rubber Manufacturing Factory at Ballapitiya in  Horana,Kalutara have died and another fifteen were developed breathing difficulties and hospitalized due to inhaling of colorless Ammonia Gas while attempting to save a person who had fallen to the Ammonia Tank in the factory this noon(19).

Around 20 persons have been fainted as a result of inhalation of Ammonia at the Tank and they have been admitted to the Horana Hospital with severe breathing difficulties ,where five of them had declared as dead after admission to the Hospital according to the Police.

Another fifteen persons are still receiving treatment at the hospital and the condition of one is critical it has been revealed.
