Four Persons Were Arrested With 119 Kilo Grammes Of Wallapatta In Possession

Four persons have been arrested by the

Airport customs this morning(14) while attempting to smuggle 119 Kilo grammes of expensive "Wallapatta" known as "Gyrinops Walla" to Dubai ,at the Katunayake ,Bandaranaike International Airport.

The stock of Wallapatta had concealed in six bags belongs to the suspects who are residents of Negambo.


A Person Was Arrested With A Stock Of Illicit Liquor

A person was arrested with a stock of
71 illicit Liquor bottles in possession without a license at a house in Campion City at Bagawan thalawa area last night(14) by the Anti Fraud Unit of Hatton police.

The stock of liquor bottles was  hidden in view of selling them for higher prices during the festive season according to police.

The suspect along with the stock of Liquor taken in to custody have been handed over to the Bagawanthalawa police to take a legal action it has been revealed.


A Chinese National Was Arrested With A Stock.Of Illegal Cigarettes At Katunayake

Airport Customs Officers have arrested
a Chinese national arrived in from Australia with 140 Cigarette Cartons containing 28,000 illegal Cigarette sticks in his possession at Katunayake, Bandaranaike International Airport this morning(14).

The suspect who had arrived in Katunayake Airport from a flight belonging to Silk Airways had concealed the illegal.stock of cigarettes in his luggage it has been revealed.

The Estimated Value of the Cigarette stock is around Rs.1.4 million and Airport customs are conducting an investigation over the incident.

Six Vehicles Collided Each Other In Southern Expressway

A heavy traffic block occurred in one of
the lane towards Galle on Southern Expressway today(14) due to a collission of Two Jeeps,A Cab and Three Motor Cars near the 48 th post at Welipanna area.

Due to the collision all the six vehicles have received minor damages and no casualties have been reported.

By this evening the situation in the traffic hit lane back to normalcy  according to the Road Development Authority.
