Cabinet Papers Had Submitted To Ban The Selling Of A Single Cigarette And Keep 20 Percent Space In Cigarette Packs In White Color

 Cabinet Papers had submitted to the Cabinet last Tuesday (03) regarding banning the selling of  a single Cigarette to consumers and keeping the 20 percent of space in Cigarette Packs in white color (free) according to the Minister Of Health Dr.Rajitha Senaratne.

Ministry Of Finance had requested a one week period to examine these proposals Minister has stated.

At present  80 percent of the space in Cigarette packs manufactured here are filled with Health warnings related to smoking.

Gazette Notification Of Banning The Selling Of Cigarettes Within 100 Meters Distance From Schools Due To Be Issued This Saturday

Image result for banning cigarette sales near schoolsThe Gazette Notification of banning the selling of Cigarettes within 100 meters distance from  Schools due to be issued on this Saturday (07) during the seventieth World Health Day celebrations at Nelum Pokuna Rangahala ,Auditorium in Town Hall according to the Ministry Of Health.

Earlier Ministry Of Health has proposed a ban of selling Cigarettes within 500 meter distance from schools and later reduced it to 100 meter distance.Cabinet has approved the Cabinet Paper submitted by the Minister Dr.Rajitha Senaratne  regarding the proposal.

The seventieth anniversary of the World Health Organization and the Seventieth World Health Day celebrations  are due to be held at Nelum Pokuna Rangahala Auditorium on this Saturday under the patronage of Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

TNA MP's Had Voted Against No Confidence Motion After Prime Minister Agrees To Fullfill Ten Of Their Demands

Tamil National Alliance(TNA) has stated

that the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has agreed to ten demands submitted to him by the Party including finding a reasonable political solution to the North Eastern conflict .

Among the ten demands Prime Minister agrees to fullfill were Handing over all the lands in North and East under the Security forces to it's owners, investigating over missing persons and done justice to them and  releasing all political prisoners accotding to TNA.

After Prime Minister agrees for these demands TNA MP's had voted against the no confidence motion presented against Prime Minister it has been revealed.

No Confidence Motion Against Prime Minister Has Been Defeated

The no confidence motion submitted against the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has been defeated by majority of 46 votes in Parliament short while ago.

During the open vote held after the debate on no confidence motion ,122 MP's voted against the motion while 76 voted in favor.

The remaining 27 MP' s in the Parliament abstained from.voting.Voting had began at 9.30p.m today and the speaker had announced the result of the vote.
