President Sirisena Participated Pakistan's Republic Day Ceremony

President Maithripala Sirisena who
arrived in Pakistan for an official visit had participated the republican day celebrations of Pakistan today (23).

During the visit President Sirisena is due to hold bilateral talks with Pakistani Leaders  and also due to sign few agreements as well it has been reported.

Two Suspects Shot And Injured A Police Constable In Kataragama Surrendered To The Police

The two suspects shot and injured a
Police Constable attached to the Intelligence Division in Kataragama Police last Monday(19) were surrendered to the Kataragama Police today(23) through a lawyer.

Police have already taken in to custidy the locally made Galkatas firearm and Three Wheeler they have arrived in for the attack.The Police Constable was injured due to the gun shooting while on the way to work.

He is currently receiving treatment at Karapitiya Teaching Hospital and also undergone a surgery on his left hand which was severely wounded due to the gun shots.

Power Of The Two Muncipal.Councils Won By UNP Grabbed By SLPP

The power of the Negambo and Galle
Municipal councils won by governing United National Party during recently concluded Local government elections in February had grabbed by Sri Lanka Podujana Persmuna (Pohottuwa symbol) lead by former President Mahinda Rajapakshe today (23) with the help of Sri Lanka Freedom Party members of those councils.

During the secret votes held in these two councils the Mayor posts of Negambo and Galle Municiple Councils have won by Dayan Lansa and Priyantha Sahabandu respectively representing Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna.

Hearing Of A Case Filed Against Former Defense Secretary And Six Others Postponed Until July

Colombo Additional Magistrate has
today(23)postponed the case filed against seven suspects including former Defense Secretary Gotabaya Rajapakshe over misusing of state funds for renovation work of D
A.Rajapakshe monument and museum at Tangalle,Weeraketiya in Madamulana during previous regime,until 20th of july.

The case was postponed as the Appeals Court has issued a restrain order against arresting former Defense Secretary which valid until 26 th of March as per the appeal submited by the former Defense Secretary .
