Sri Lanka Navy Had Unconditionally Pardoned The Assaulting Of A Provincial Journalist By The Former Navy Commander In 2016

Sri Lanka Navy had unconditionally pardoned over the assaulting of a  Provincial Journalist Roshan Gunasekare by the Former Navy Commander and Security Chief Of Staff  Admiral Ravindra Wijegunawardane during a protest held at Hambanthota Port premises on 10th of December 2016 ,at the Supreme Court.

The Navy had unconditionally pardoned over the incident by a letter sent to the Supreme Court where a human rights violation petition filed by the Provincial Journalist Gunasekare over the incident is hearing .

The assaulted Provincial Journalist  had filed a Human rights violation petition over the incident in January 2017 in  Supreme Court.



A Person Was Arrested With 2.12 Kilo Grammes Of Kerala Cannabis

A 44 year old person was arrested with 2.12 Kilo
Grammes of Kerala Cannabis in his possession by the officers attached to Colombo Central Divisional  Law Enforcement Unit last evening (03)at Panchikawatte area,Maradana.

The suspect was handed over to Maradana Police for further investigations.

A Special Weekend Air-Conditioned Train Service Was Commenced From Kandy To Ella

Sri Lanka Railways Department has today
(03)commenced a special fully Air-Conditioned weekend Train service from Kandy to Ella in Badulle for Foreign and Local Tourists.

The Train is comprised of  six carraiges and all together 264 Passangers can travel in the Train with 44 per a carraige it has been revealed.

The ticket fee of this Special Train will be Rs.1250 per passanger  from Kandy to Ella and Rs.1000 per passanger from Kandy to Nanu-Oya.

All Unemployed Graduates Will Be Received Employment Opportunities Soon-President

A programme to provide employment opportunities
for all unemployed graduates will be implemented within next six months According to the President Maithripala Sirisena.

The interviews of unemployed graduates regarding employment opportunities which were postponed due to the recently concluded local government elections will be held within next two months President has stated during a function held in Batticaloa to hand over teaching appointments to two hundrad Graduates and fourty two Diploma holders .
