Governing UNP And SLFP Continues Their Power Struggle To Carryout The Government

Although Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe has
stated  that he will continue functioning as the Prime Minister of the current national government until 2020 as per the constitution ,Both the Governing United National Party (UNP) led by Prime Minister Wikramasinghe  and it's allied partner Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP) led by President Maithripala Sirisena still continuing  the  power struggle to show the majority in Parliament in view of continue the government.

A series of discussions were held today (18)as well under the patronage of Prime Minister and President regarding this it has been revealed.

Meanwhile Sri Lanka Freedom Party which aims to form a single government with the assistance of Joint Opposition group led by former president Mahinda Rajapakshe  has now decided to propose another two candidates for the Prime Minister's post of the  new government namely Ministers W.D.J Seneviratne and Susil Premjayantha as some of the Party MP's have opposed the previous candidate Transport Minister Nimal Siripala De Silva.

The UNP Parliamentary Group met the Prime Minister Ranil Wkramasinghe at Temple Trees to discuss on the current political crisis and Prime Minister and Speaker Karu Jayasuriya met President today according to the sources.

Meanwhile a group of SLFP MP's who had met with President informed him that they will not like to be with the government under the leadership of current Prime Minister.

A Mother And Son Had Committed Suicide In Kandy

A mother and her son had committed suicide by
hanging themselves at the kitchen of their house at Siyambalapitiya, Kandy according to the Kandy Police.

According to a letter written by the deceased son who was 45 years old before committing suicide  ,He and his mother(69) had committed suicide due to an illness .
Kandy Police have recovered the two bodies after receiving an information regarding their suicide.

Twenty Seven Youth Were Arrested With A Stock Of Narcotics And Cigarettes Near Sripadha

Hatton Divisional Police Anti Corruption Unit officers
had arrested 27 youth who came to worship historic Sripadha" rock with a stock of narcotics and illegal cigarette sticks in their possession in Diyagala area at Hatton -Colombo main  road .

Police have taken into custody 59,000 mili grammes of Kerala Cannabis ,08 mili grammes of Heroin and 27 illegal cigarette sticks in the possession of the arrested youth.

The suspects who are residents of Kurunagala, Colombo,Panadura,Kaluthara and Dehiwala areas are due to be produced before the Hatton Magistrate Court.
