A Female Has Died After falling Down From A Bus

A 28 year old female has died after falling down  to

ground while attempting to board a Sri Lanka Transport Board bus as a result of starting the Bus near the  Padeniya Bus stand  in Wariyapola area today (17).

The deceased was a resident of Weeragahamula in Padeniya area.

Padeniya Police have arrested the Bus Driver regarding the incident.

A 60 Year Person Committed Suicide Near Bambalapitiya Train Station

A 60 year old person had committed suicide this
morning (17)by jumping in front of a train travelling from Panadura to Maradana near the Bambalapitiya Train station.

The identity and the cause of the death of the deceased have not yet been revealed.

A Couple Was Critically Injured And A Child Escaped Due To A Bus-Motorcycle Collision

A couple was critically injured and hospitalized and
the child of the couple escaped unharmed after the Motorcycle they were travelling in colliding with a high speed Private Bus at Watawala area on Colombo -Hatton main road last night (16).

The critically injured couple was admitted to the Watawala Provincial Hospital for treatment and later the wife was transferred to the Nawalapitiya Base Hospital and Husband to the Kandy Teaching Hospital for further treatment.

The Motorcycle which travelling from Ginigathhena to Kotagala in Hatton dragged away for few feets in front after colliding with the high speed private bus travelling from Hatton to Nawalapitiya .

The driver of the private bus who was driving the Bus under the influence of liquor at the time of the accident was arrested by the police over the incident and he is due to be produced before the Hatton Magistrate Court.
