A Female Candidate Contesting For The Local Government Elections From SLFP Disappeared

A 38 year old female candidate who is contesting for
the Wennappuwa pradeshiya sabha from Sri Lanka Freedom Party (SLFP)in tomorrow's local government election had disappeared mysteriously since 08th of January after 2 p.m while receiving treatment for an illness in Marawila Hospital according to a complaint made by her husband to the Wennappuwa Police.

The husband of the missing female SLFP Candidate who is also contesting for the local government elections in tomorrow's poll for the Wennappuwa Pradeshiya Sabha as an Independant Candidate ,has stated in his complaint made to the Police that his wife was admitted to the Marawila Hospital on 05th of January for an illness and on 08th of January she had disappeared mysteriously.

A Ballot Box Was Transported To Madhuwa Island In A Boat For The Local Government Election

Election Department officials had today
(09)transported a Ballot Box to the voters in Madhuwa island surrounded by Madhu River in a Motor Boat from Godagedara ,Balapitiya to cast their votes during local government elections scheduled to be held tomorrow (10).

The Ballot Box was transported with a police protection to the 150 acre land Madhuwa Island .

Around 750 person lives in the Island at present ,But only 499 out of them are eligible to cast their vote in tomorrow's election at their only polling station situated in Madhuwa Primary Collage.

Dehiwala Zoo To Close Down During Nights For Three Days Due To The Election

The Dehiwala Zoo will be closed during night for three
days from today (09) as a result of the officers attached to Zoo participating  for election work according to the authorities.

Accordingly the Zoo will be closed from today (09) to Sunday (11)after 6 p.m and it will function as usual during the day period from 8.30 a.m to 6 p.m these days
