Central Bank Bond Scam :Impriosned Owner And CEO Of The Perpetual Treasuries Have Been Transferred To A Safe Priosn Cell

The imprisoned owner of the Perpetual Treasuries Limited Arjun Aloysius and the Chief Executive Officer of the Company Kasun Palisena who have been remanded until the 16th of February over their involvement on Central Bank Bond Scam , were transferred to a Special safe Prison Cell in New Magazine Prison ,Colombo due to their own security according to the Prison authorities .

However the new Prison Cell which the two Bond Scam suspects are currently in is not a luxurious one the authorities have stated.

The two suspects were remanded until 16th of February by the Colombo Fort Magistrate Lanka Jayaratne after they have been produced  before her yesterday(05).

All Schools To Be Closed On This Friday Due To The Local Government Elections

All schools in the island will be   closed on this Friday(09) due to the forthcoming local Government elections on 10th of February according to the Ministry Of Education.

In addition Nineteen  Schools and two Teachers Training Schools (Vidya Peeta) which are due to be used for official election activities related to   Ballot Boxes and exchanging docuements ,will be closed from tomorrow(07) up to Friday(09) it has been announced.

These Schools and  and two Teachers Training Schools will be re opened on next Monday(12).

Water Board Employees Have Launched Three Day Island Wide Strike

The employees attached to the Water Supplies and

Drainage Board had today (05)launched a three day Island Wide strike by demahding solutions for ther demands mainly regarding salary anomalies according to the Water Board Joint Trade Union Alliance.

The Trade Union Alliance had launched the strike after failed to find a solution during yesterday's(04) talks held with the subject Mimister Rauf Hakeem.

Due to the strike there may be an interruptions when settling Water Bills ,the Board has stated.
