Bellanwila Thero Was Hospitalized Due To An Elephant Attack

The Chief Incumbent of the Bellanwila Rajamahaviharasthanaya(Temple) Professor Venerable Bellanwila Wimalaratne Thero(75) was critically injured and hospitalized this morning(02) after the Tusker "Miyankumara" attached  to the Temple attacked him while the Thero feeding him with meals.

The Thero was pushed aside by the Elephant and devotees of the Temple had hospitalized him after the attack.

The Thero was admitted to the South Colombo(Kalubowila) Teaching Hospital for treatment in critical condition and he is now receiving treatment at the Hospital ICU.

Colombo High Court Has Freeze Bank Accounts And Assets Of Perpetual Tresuries Limited

Colombo High Court had freeze all the Bank accounts
,assets and properties belonging to Perpetual Tresuries Limited which is the main suspect of the Central Bank bond scam for a further 30 day period it has been announced today (01).

The Colombo High Court has taken this step as per requested by senior officers of the Attorney General's Department.

A Police Constable Was Sentenced A 20 Year Imprisonment Over Accepting A Bribe

today (01)sentenced a Police Constable in Dematagoda a 20 year imprisonment over accepting Rs.20,000 as a bribe to not taking legal action against a person who is responsible for maintaining mosquito breeding places in his house premises at  Dematagoda.

The Judge has also ordered to recover the Rs.20,000 from the Police Constable which he has taken as a bribe.
