Seven Defendants Involved In The Invident Of Kneeling Down A Principal In Badulla By The Uva Chief Minister Requested To Appear Before Human Rights Commission

Sri lanka Human Rights Commission has requested
seven defendants of the incident on kneeling down of  a female principal by the Uva chief minister to appear before the Commission to face an inquiry  over the incident today (25).

Accordingly the defendants including Uva Provincial Education Secretary ,The Education Director of Uva Province,three staff  members of the Uva Provincial Council ,Badulla Regional Education Director and Police Suprentendant in Badulla have been requested to appear before the Human Rights Commission to record their statements of the inquiry to be held  regarding the incident  under the durector of Investigations of the Commission at 10 a.m today.

The complainant party and the Principal of the Badulla Tamil Girls School who faced the incident are also being requested to appear before the Commission today

Minimum Standards Of Medical Education To Be Gazetted On 27th

Minimum standards of Medical
Education and Clinical Training  will be gazetted on 27 the of January according to the Government Information Department.

This will be done as a solution for the SAITM crisis and Government has already planned to abolish SAITM and handed over the assets,students,staff and all resources of SALTM  to the non profitable institute Sri Lanka Institute Of Information Technology.

Government is willing to arrange discussions over the SALTM issue with ministers for the relevant parties and before protest against the decision The relevant parties should discuss widely on the steps taken to solve the SALTM issue the release issued by Government Information Department has stated

A Tense Situation Occurred Due To A Brawl Erupted Between Two Doctors During Sri Lanka Medical Council Elections

A tense situation had occurred in front of the Sri
Lanka Medical Council (SLMC) building in Noris Canal road ,Colombo-10 this noon (24)due to a brawl erupted between two Doctors who  contested in the election held to elect four members to the SLMC .

Due to the brawl a part of a  trouser of one of the Doctors attached to a Doctors Union who involved in the brawl had been torn it has been reported.

The voting of the election was held on both yesterday (23) and today (24) with the participation of doctors attached to government sector at SLMC Premises.

Two Stay Orders Were Issued To Avoid University Students Anti SAITM Protest March From Entering Colombo

The Colombo Fort Magistrate Court and Gangodawila
Magistrate Court had issued two stay orders today (24)to avoid Anti SAITM protest march of a University Students organized by the Inter University Students Federation (IUSF) from entering Colombo tomorrow (25).

The two stay orders to avoid the protest march from entering Colombo were issued as per the requests made by the Police.

A large number of University students are scheduled to be marched towards Colombo to protest against SAITM tomorrow which may cause heavy traffic in main roads of the Colombo city.

Two Youth Were Killed Due To A Motorcycle-Cab Collision

Two youth were killed after the Motorcycle they were
travelling in colliding in with a Cab vehicle at Urali area,in Jaffna-Palali main  road last evening (23).

One youth was killed on the spot and other youth had succumbed to his injuries after admission to hospital it has been revealed.The two youth were residents of Jaffna of the ages 25 and 36 years old according to the Police.

The accident occurred when the Motorcycle attempting to overtake a Bus .Chunnakam Police are investigating on the incident.
