Air Baloons And Seat Belts Should Be Equipped With All Vehicles Which Are To Be Imported From July-Finance Ministry

The Ministry Of Finance has made compulsory to have
seat belts and Air Baloons in all Motor Vehicles which are to be  imported to Sri Lanka from 01st of  July this year.

Accordingly all the Vehicles scheduled to be imported to Sri Lanka from 01st of July this year should be equipped with Air baloons for the driver  and the front seat passanger,a break system which prevents locking and seat belts for three positions from front seats to back seats the Ministry has stated.

Importing  vehicles without these facilities will be banned from this July it has been announced.This decision has been taken as per a 2018 budget proposal .




Two Persons Were Critically Injured Due To A Motorcycle-Lorry Collision

A motorcycle rider and a pillion rider were critically
injured and hospitalized after the Motorcycle they were travelling in colliding with a Lorry transporting vehicles at Nochchimottai area in Vavuniya this evening (19).

The injured one in unconcious state were admitted to the Vavuniya Hospital for treatment.

Omanthai Police are conducting an investigation on the incident.

A Motor Car Driver Was Injured Due To A Motor Car-Motorcycle Collision

A motor car driver was injured and hospitalized after
the high speed  motor car he was driving in  colliding with a Motorcycle at Siripura ,Bagawanthalawa area in Bagawanthalawa-Hatton Main road this evening (19).

The injured was admitted to Bagawanthalawa Provincial Hospital for treatment.

The high speed Motor Car was travelling from Bagawanthalawa to Norwood at the time of the accident and after colliding with the motorcycle it veering off the road according to sources.
