Eleven Females Including Actress Samanali Fonseka Filed A Petition At Court Against Withdrawal Of Gazette Notifications On Liquor
Eleven women including a so call actress Samanali
Fonseka had filed a fundamental rights petition at Supreme Court yesterday (17)against the withdrawal of two gazette notifications issued by Finanace Ministry regarding removing the ban imposed on local women to purchase liquor,working in liquor bars and selling of liquor and extending business hours of opening the Bars in the country .
The petition has stated that by withdrawing the gazette notifications it violated the equal rights of women.The petition has naned a group of persons including Finance Minister and Attorney General as defendents .

UNP Had Appointed A Three Member Committee To Examine On Bond Scam Report
The ruling United National Party (UNP) has appointed
a three member committee yesterday (17) to examine the Central Bank Bond Scam report.
The Committee was appointed during the working Committee meeting of the UNP held yesterday and the Committee will submit it's recommendations to the working committee it has been stated.

President Has Ordered The Authorities To Take Stern Action Against Those Responsible For Central Bank Bond Scam
President Maithripala Sirisena had instructed the
authorities including the Attorney General ,The director of Bribery Commission and the Chairman of the Central Bank to take stern action against the culprits responsible for the Central Bank bond scam and take steps to recover the public money stolen from the culprits it has been reported.
While addressing a public rally held in Elpitiya area today ,President Sirisena has stated that he had prepared a programme to punish the culprits of Central Bank Bond Scam and came to the rally.
