Three Persons Were Arrested With Heroin In Matara

The special Police Motorcycle unit of the Matara
divisional Police have arrested three persons with 980 mili grammes of Heroin in their possession at Hulandawa,Matara area this noon (08).

The suspects who are of the ages 24-27 years are due to be produced before the Morawaka Magistrate Court tomorrow (09).

Speaker Has Decided To Convene The Parliament On Wednesday To A Debate On Bond Commission Report

Speaker Karu Jayasuriya has today (08)decided to
convene the parliament at 10 a.m on this Wednesday to conduct a special parliamentary session to discuss on the Central Bank Bond Commission report as requested by the Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe.

Prime Minister has yesterday (07)requested the speaker in public  to convene the parliament to discuss on the Bond commission report.


  • Earlier several opposition parties including Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna and governing Sri Lanka Freedom Party have requested  to convene the parliament to discuss on the bond commission report.

President Had Inaugurated The Moragahakande Dam Project

The largest multi sectoral Development project
constructed by the Mahaweli Authority the Moragahakande Dam Project was inaugurated by President Maithripala Sirisena today (08).

After unveiling the plaque President Sirisena had pressed an electronic switch to open sluice gates of the Moragahakande Dam Project.

Prime Minister Ranil Wikramasinghe along with seveeal Gogernment Ministers and dignitaries have graced the occassion.

Two Persons Were Arrested With 16,500 Kilo Grammes Of Waste Tea

The Special Police Task Force Personal had arrested
two persons and taken in to custody 16,500 Kilo Grammes Of Waste Tea and around 400 liters of Chemicals use to make taste and color of the Waste Tea in a Store at Kiththampahuwa in Colombo during a raid it has been revealed.

The Intelligence Officers have revealed an  information that the arrested suspects have involved in exporting Waste Tea packed at the store to foreign countries according to suspects.
