Two Suspects Arrested Over The Death Of A British National Were Remanded
The two suspects arrested over the death of a 37 year
old British National whose body was recovered in a ground at Maligawatte were remanded until 15th of January by the Colombo Additional Magistrate today (04).
The suspects were remanded adter being produced before the court today by Maligawatte and the Additional Magistrate has ordered to produce one suspect for an identification parade.
Maligawatte Police had informed the Court that inquiry is underway regarding the death of the British national as the Police has suspected the death may be a murder.

Government Has Signed A MOU With SLIIIT To Form A New Non Profitable Medical Degree Awarding Institute By Abolishing SAITM
Government has signed a memorandum of
understanding (MOU)with the Sri Lanka Institute Of Information Technology (SLIIT) which is a private non profitable degree awarding institute in Sri Lanka to form a non profitable institute awarding a medical degree by abolishing the SAITM (Malabe Private Medical Collage) on 30th of December 2017 the Government Information Departm
ent has announced.
Accordingly the newly formed Medical Degree Institute will be recruited the current SAITM students and will be received an approval from Sri Lanka Medical Council for it's Medical Degree.
The Institute will recruit new students from 2019 the Information Department has stated.
